Xavier Pillai has just completed his two-year Icon Internship at the British Film Institute which was generously supported by the Clothworkers' Foundation.

Over the last few months, since the easing of lockdown measures, The Bowes Museum Icon/NHLF Textile Conservation Interns Charlotte Cameron (a graduate of M.Phil. Textile Conservation at The Centre for Textile Conservation) and Kezia Cosson (a graduate of the University of Lincoln, Conservation of Cultural Heritage BA) have been back to work on a part-time basis to assist the museum’s Preventive Conservator Frederick Stubbs in deep cleaning the galleries whilst the museum was closed to visitors.  

Ian Channell, Icon Intern, is undertaking an internship in Preventive Conservation at the University of Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum, funded by the Museum’s Marlay Group.

Icon Clothworkers Intern, Joe Jackson is undertaking an internship in Preventive Conservation at the National Library of Scotland, made possible through the support of the Clothworkers Foundation.

In November 2019, after recently graduating from Northumbria University, with a masters in the Conservation of Fine Art on Paper, Lindsay McPherson commenced a twelve-month Icon internship, funded by the Clare Hampson Fund, at The British Museum’s Western Art on Paper studio.
